The Margam Green Energy Plant located in South Wales is a 40MW biomass power station which will be fired by waste wood.
The project was developed through a Joint Venture between Eco2 and Western Logs Group.
In 2015, the project was purchased by Glennmont Partners on behalf of its dedicated clean energy fund.
The project was project financed with Glennmont Partners providing the equity and Deutsche Bank AG, supported by Danish export credit agency Eksport Kredit Fonden providing the debt. The power station is being built by a consortium consisting of Babcock Wilcox Volund A/S and Interserve Construction Ltd. with Stobart’s providing the wood under a long term contract. The project will be managed on behalf of the owners by Eco2 Management Services Ltd.
