The EMSL team has historically been involved in delivering six biomass projects on behalf of Eco2 Limited through construction and into their operational phase. EMSL currently manages three biomass plants with a combined capacity of 120MW.
EMSL’s services to biomass power stations encompasses commercial management, operational oversight, fuel contract management and delivery and key stakeholder engagement. This service is supported by the EMSL Finance team in the provision of a full financial services package to the project covering everything from invoice management to financial reporting.

Case study
Sleaford Renewable Energy Plant
With an installed capacity of 38 MW, the Sleaford Renewable Energy Plant near Kirkby la Thorpe in Lincolnshire generates enough power for 65,000 homes, using sustainable fuel sources, saving 240,000 tonnes of CO2 a year. The plant entered commercial operation in September 2014.
Eco2 Ltd self-funded the development of the project and secured planning permission in 2008, before selling the project prior to construction. The development team at Eco2 managed the project from start through to sale, negotiating the property agreements, securing the planning consent and grid connection.
Following the sale, Eco2 were appointed to manage the construction and subsequent operation of the plant, and still have a Management Services Agreement to manage the logistics of the fuel supply on behalf of the plant's owners, Greencoat Capital.
